"You have indeed Mr Busybody. You are now in the living room of what will soon be traded in for a great mansion on a hill top."
"I should say Mr Smith, that you must be exceedingly thrilled by this discovery. However, if I may say so, you seem rather complacent for one so blessed. Is it your ability to restrain your enthusiasm I am witnessing Mr Smith?"
"Not really Mr Busybody. I guess I always knew I was special and destined for greatness. I suppose I'm more the surprised that it took so long for the world to recognize my superior nature."
"Um, yes, I see Mr Smith. Well, moving on, how, may I ask, did you happen to discover your good fortune? Was it perhaps by special messenger direct from the Smith Foundation president himself? I would surely consider it an honor to view this document, if I may be so bold as to inquire."
"Well, no Mr Busybody. It wasn't exactly by messenger I discovered my true inheritance."
"Oh, I see. Then was it perhaps by a personal telegram that you were informed of your special status Mr. Smith?"
"Well, no Mr Busybody. Not by telegram either. But it was through a very reliable source I was made aware of my inheritance. Yes indeed it was, you can be assured of that Mr Busybody."
"You certainly have my interest peaked Mr Smith. Would you please tell my listeners and me by what means you discovered your right to the headship of the mighty Smith dynasty?"
"Why certainly Mr Busybody. I discovered it one day while reading this book. Here it is, and I have the words highlighted that are especially indicative of my status."
"Um, yes Mr Smith. I'm rather familiar with this book. But Mr Smith, this book is written to a specific group of people. And as I read this book, even those very special people must continue to follow a strict set of rules in order to retain their status. How may I ask, were you able to ascertain that you are the heir apparent of this mighty kingdom rather than someone else? For as I see it, according to one of these highlighted sentences, only one person, or certainly a very few is entitled to the position you claim to be your own."
"That person is certainly I myself Mr Busybody. There can be no doubt whatever about that fact. I have it on the best of authorities that I am that heir."
"And Mr Smith, may I ask who that authority may be?"
"Certainly you may Mr Busybody. First of all, I bear the name of the founder of the Smith dynasty. There can be no disputing that fact. Second I have my family, and my church who most wholeheartedly support my claim to the dynasty in question. And I can assure you Mr Busybody, these people are above reproach in the field of investigative research."
"I see. But Mr Smith, I assume you are aware that there are a great many people who bear the name you cling to so proudly, and there are a great many of these also who lay claim to the dynasty you hold so dear. And Mr Smith, I am equally sure you must be aware that there will be a great many of those bearing the name of the dynasty's founder who will be sadly disappointed when the true heir is selected. And Mr Smith, I have no doubt but that you are equally aware that it is not the name one bears that makes one royalty, but it is the blood that courses their veins that establishes the person they truly are. Do I assume correctly Mr Smith?"
"Most assuredly you do Mr Busybody. I regret to say that there will indeed be many dashed hopes and dreams when I take the headship of the Smith dynasty. But that's just the way things are Mr Busybody, some are born to win, and the rest are born losers."
"Um, yes. And on that note I would like to leave you with one thought that crosses my mind Mr Smith. It seems to me that it would serve you well to delve deeper into the subject of your future than you apparently have. It might just be that you have missed a bit of small print somewhere. Is that at all possible Mr Smith?"
"I appreciate your concern Mr Busybody, but I can assure you that I have all the evidence I need to support my stance, and that no further investigation is needed."
"Well Mr Smith, then I would just like to leave you with this little bit of advise. I would suggest you look up the term Heir Presumptive. Better to know the word now, than to learn of it when all is said and done. Wouldn't you say so Mr Smith?"
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Mat 7:)
13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Mat 7:)
24Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. (1Cor 9:)
35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, (Luke 20:)
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Mat 7:)
